1972 - 1980 Seasons: Atlanta Flames

Before the 1980 - 1981 season, the Calgary Flames were the Atlanta Flames. During this seven years, there were 3 head coaches that coached the Flames. They were: Bernie Geoffrion, Fred Creighton, and Al MacNeil. They did not qualify for the playoffs twice in the 7 years and lost five times in the preliminary rounds. Their best season during these 7 years was when Fred Creighton coached them to a 41 win, 31 loses, and 90 points during 80 games in the 1978 - 1979 season.
